Scholarships are awarded for academic as well as Music, Art, Drama and Sport. Academic scholarships are awarded on receipt of 10 A* grades at GCSE or equivalent in points across 10 subjects and there is no need to make a formal application to apply. Academic Scholarships are normally honorary and so do not carry any fee remission. All other aspects of the Scholarship Programme remain the same. Scholarship trials, portfolios or auditions for Sport, Art, Music and Drama are held in the first week of November. This will then be followed by a formal interview with senior staff. Students not wishing to apply for scholarships are given a shorter admission interview.
Once completion of the registration form and payment of the necessary fee is made, references from the applicant's current educational establishment will be requested as part of the admissions procedure. Students will be asked for a minimum of 6 A grades (or equivalent points) at GCSE for entry. All parents accepting places are required to pay a non-refundable deposit.
Candidates will be provisionally offered a place dependent upon GCSE results. This will be confirmed once the results have been officially received in August.
Please remember that students wishing to enter the Sixth Form at age 16 must arrange a formal visit and preliminary interview with the Head of Sixth Form.
