Upper Years children start the year with a quiz!

What better way to start the new academic year than having an inter-house general knowledge quiz!

That's exactly what happened at St George's Junior School on the first day of term (Thursday 6 September), as all of the Upper Years children split into their Houses and competed against each other to see which House was the brainiest.

Simon, the Quizmaster from Quiz Club, ran the event for the very first time and it's safe to say the children were big fans of this particular quiz, cheering and shouting their support for their fellow House mates throughout the entire quiz.

The children used special handsets to answer a variety of general knowledge questions. As well as competing for their Houses, the pupils were also competing individually for a place on our school team (competing in the area heats in January).

After all the questions were answered, it was time to find out which House had won.

Results:

1st - Hawks

2nd - Owls

3rd - Kestrels

4th - Eagles

Well done to Hawks and to all the children who showed great knowledge throughout the quiz, it was the best possible way to start the new year.
