U11 Boys crowned National ISGA 2-piece Gymnastics Champions

On Saturday 16 November five gymnasts from Year 5 and 6 entered the U11 Boys National ISGA 2-piece Championship.

Our team did brilliantly in the Voluntary Vault, performing a combination of handsprings, straddle over and squat through vaults. They scored a total of 35.45 out of a possible 40, the best team result ever received by a St George's Junior team.

The Set Floor was equally successful, with each boy rising to the challenge by including moves that would earn them bonus points, amassing a total score of 31.5.

Luke's (Year 6) individual total was 17.95, for which he was awarded the silver medal, and Max (Year 5) achieved an individual total of 17.35, for which he was awarded the bronze medal.

The final team total was 66.95, and the boys were crowned 2019 U11 Boys National ISGA 2-piece Champions! This is a fantastic achievement, and the first time that St George's Junior School has won a team title in Gymnastics. Well done Luke, Max, Alastair, William and Ben, U11 Boys National ISGA 2-piece Gymnastics Champions.
