St George's latest building, Farm Pavilion, officially opened
St George's Weybridge was delighted to officially open our latest building, Farm Pavilion, on 29 June 2018. The building was opened by the Mayor of Runnymede, Cllr Dolsie Clarke and blessed by the College Chaplain, Fr Martin Ashcroft CJ.
As well as the Mayor of Runnymede, our Ward Councillor, Jim Broadhead, was in attendance, along with members of the Governing Body. St George's also invited representatives from Modulek, the contractor and manufacturer of the building, Madlins, the project manager and members of St George's Facilities team who helped deliver such a smart building on time and on budget.
Not only is the Farm Pavilion a smart new addition to the buildings portfolio at St George's College, it is also a critical part of our wider campus redevelopment plan, paving the way for further improvements in other areas, including the Activity Centre project due for completion in Autumn 2019.
The Farm Pavilion building itself is a user friendly, flexible changing facility for outside sports, aimed at encouraging adolescents to be and stay active. It will also provide greater flexibility to be open out of school hours when wider community users are using the site.
Once the Mayor had cut the ribbon and officially opened the building, she and the other guests were invited to take a tour of the facilities and gain a greater understanding of the building's purpose.
