St George’s College Chamber Choir visits Chichester Cathedral

Wednesday 28 January saw the Chamber Choir at St George’s College, Weybridge travel to sing Evensong in the beautiful location of Chichester Cathedral.

Travelling down after lunch, the choir spent the afternoon taking in the stunning interior of the building whilst rehearsing the repertoire for the service, which included Sanders’ Reponses, Purcell’s florid Service in G minor and Eccard’s When to the temple Mary went.

Under the direction of Tansy Castledine, the choir led the service so well that they were immediately invited back after the service by the Dean of the Cathedral, who was visibly impressed.

Special mention must go to Finn Mather, Becky Muggeridge, Megan Campbell, Sara Hill, Georgie Agnew, Kaveh Safavi and Jack Hudson for their accomplished solos in the Purcell Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis.
