Sixth Form girls and boys display their art skills at exhibition
Sixth Form girls and boys from St George’s College, Weybridge have been displaying their skills at the College arts department’s annual art exhibition in early March (2015).
The event provided students with a chance to experience exhibiting their work and to reflect on their progress and achievements this year. The exhibition was split into two rooms, one displaying Lower Sixth work based on the theme of Interior/Exterior and the Upper Sixth worked on the theme of Growth & Evolution.
The standard produced by the students was incredibly high, as usual, with contributors producing some stunning work across a wide range of media. The exhibition evening held on 5 March was well attended, forming part of a full evening’s entertainment at St. George’s starting with the Emma Broad Hockey 6s and ending with the Drama production of The Children’s Hour. It was great to see so many Sixth Form students attend the exhibition and the addition of fancy dress from the preceding charity hockey tournament helped give the whole evening a suitably surreal feel!
Wine and cheese were laid on to accompany the artwork and it was lovely to catch up with some proud parents to discuss the artwork.
Many thanks to all those who attended and especially to the students and teachers for producing such a fantastic body of work.
The next art exhibition at St George’s College, Weybridge will be of GCSE art on Thursday 7 May 2015 - all are welcome.
