Second Years 'walk around the world' as part of CAFOD Study Day

On Thursday 14 June, Second Year students at St George's College took part in a CAFOD study day in order to explore the work of the charity, with a focus on the plight of refugees and migrants.

As part of the experience, the students took part in CAFOD’s ‘Share the Journey’ campaign, which invites Christian communities to work together to ‘walk around the world’ in solidarity with refugees and migrants.

Between them, the students and staff clocked up 170 miles to add to CAFOD’s total!

Students also completed ‘On the Move’ a refugee simulation game that asks students to reflect on the effects of displacement on families and how it can affect people's lives.

It was an eye-opening experience for the Second Years, who were reflective, thoughtful and sensitive throughout the day.
