Poetry at the Junior School transformed into rhythmic, rhyming raps

In October, the Junior School pupils from Nursery to Year 6 celebrated National Poetry Day with an extraordinary visit from children's poet, Ollie Heath, who transformed poetry into a rap performance using rhythm, rhyme and rap. His workshops were energising and a unique experience for all of the children.

The atmosphere in the Junior School Chapel was buzzing as each child played many different instruments and made poetry come alive. Every Year Group practised a different poem and then performed them following Ollie’s instructions as he used a loop station as an accompaniment to his presentations. This blew some of the pupil's minds!

It was an amazing day for every child at the Junior School (and the staff!). A huge thanks to Ollie for coming in and helping us celebrate National Poetry Day.
