Nursery learn about Easter traditions and the art of egg rolling
At the end of March, the Lions class in Nursery was busy learning about Easter and the art of egg rolling.
The children learnt how in Romania eggs are beautifully decorated and used to signify ‘Jesus is alive.’ With Romanian style decorated eggs, made by one of the Lion's mothers, we combined the Romanian tradition with the popular English tradition of egg rolling.
The girls and boys enjoyed choosing an egg, climbing to the top of the Nursery hill and rolling it down to see what would happen, cheering their eggs on all the way. It was a fascinating experience for the Lions and a good way to get them in the mood for Easter.
