Milton Jones performs at Sixth Form Comedy Night
Last Thursday, 22 January, the Sixth Form Charity Committee at St George’s College, Weybridge put on the annual Comedy Night which was a huge success. The first three supporting acts, Andy Holloway, Ricky Powell and Stu Turner were warmly received and set the tone for the headline act, the hilarious Milton Jones.
Milton Jones, most famous for being on Mock the Week and Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Road Show, is a fantastic comedian who appeals to a wide audience; as a result, parents, staff and Sixth Form students enjoyed his witty one-liners, for which he is renowned. He is currently touring the UK, so we were very honoured that he was able to find time in his busy schedule to visit St George’s and perform to an audience of 200.
With tickets and refreshment sales, we managed to raise an amazing amount of £2,133 for Chance for Childhood, the charity supported by Milton Jones. We would like to thank those who made the night such a success: Joe Russell and team for controlling the lights; Mr Barham for recruiting all the acts; the very entertaining compère David Rowan; all who performed; Mr Laughton; and the Heads of Charity Emma Davies, Josh Crew, Emma Bruno and Elliott Sharp, who made it an enjoyable night for all.
