'Living Nativity' captivates Nursery children

Nursery children were left captivated on Tuesday 12 December as they got to experience a Nativity scene like no other when they got up close and personal with live animals in the ‘Living Nativity’.

Watched over by a Shepherd, there were donkeys, goats, sheep, chickens and even a pig, all in a barn overlooking baby Jesus and Mary and Joseph.

The children were reminded of the story of how Mary and Joseph travelled to Bethlehem, only to find there were no inns or places to stay, resulting in them taking refuge in a barn, with animals all around them as Jesus was born.

The Nursery pupils were fascinated by the animals and very excited to meet them up close, even getting to stroke the animals and feel how soft their fur was. It was a brilliant way for the children to get in the mood for Christmas!
