Inter-House Art Mural competition showcases collaboration and creativity

House teams at St George's College came together on Thursday 21 June to create special murals that would be placed around the school.

Working with their House families, students from Kilmorey, King, Petre, Southcote, Stirling and Woburn had to produce a 120 x 200 cm piece of street art based on the theme of hospitality.

After devising some plans and brainstorming possible designs, the students then had from lunchtime until 6 pm on the Thursday to complete their murals.

As First Years up to Sixth Forms gathered together, it was a wonderful scene as so many different students from different age groups collaborated to make something truly special for the competition.

As the delighted (and weary) students finally finished their masterpieces, it was then time to reveal the winning House of the competition. Well done to every student and House member that took part (teachers as well), everyone was truly blown away by the quality of the artwork produced.

In 1st place was...Petre

In 2nd place was...King

In 3rd place was...Woburn

The runners-up were: Kilmorey, Southcote and Stirling

Below are a number of other photos of the collaboration in practice.
