Inspirational visit from international table tennis stars

Paul and Joanna Drinkhall, the British Men and Woman’s Number 1 table tennis seeds, as well as the 8th seed David McBeath, visited the PE lessons at St George’s College, Weybridge on Wednesday (4 March 2015). Paul is currently top 40 in the world.

Both Paul and Joanna brought in their Mixed Doubles Commonwealth Games Gold medals to show the children. The three stars demonstrated the extraordinary skills required to play the game at the top level.

The boys and girls were able to play alongside and gain an insight into what makes a top athlete tick. Paul and Joanna live in Chertsey and in fact were married at the College Chapel. It is hoped that more of our children will take up an interest in table tennis and are very welcome at the Tuesday lunch time club.
