Gymnasts jump for joy with success at IAPS National Championships

On Saturday 25 November, 17 girls from Years 4 to 6 competed in the IAPS (Independent Association of Prep Schools) National Gymnastics Championships, which were held at Kent College.

The Under 11 team finished 10th overall in the team competition with one of our girls finishing 15th overall individually out of 59 girls.

The Under 10 girls' team finished in 7th place overall and narrowly missed out on team medals. One of our girls finished 8th overall individually out of 58 girls.

In the Under 9 competition there was more success, as St George’s managed to secure the bronze medal finishing 3rd overall out of 11 schools! This is an incredible achievement considering this was only the 2nd time this team have entered this competition! One of the Under 9 girls also finished 2nd overall in the individual competition – a huge accomplishment!

Well done to all of the girls involved – all of their preparation in training really paid off and they performed with confidence and poise throughout the day.

They now look forward to their next competitions in January and February!
