First Years demonstrate knowledge of the Black Death

This half-term, Tutor Group 1CNY at St George's College have been studying the Black Death and its impact on Europe.

This has involved the students finding out the causes of the Black Death and how it was spread, as well as the symptoms, treatments and consequences. They have also engaged with a range of materials and sources throughout the half-term.

Using their own knowledge and conducting further research, the students had the opportunity to let their creative juices flow as they split into groups to produce some special presentations.

One group chose to produce a museum board, while the other groups created board games using their understanding of the Black Death.

Their teacher, Mrs Peters, was thrilled with the results and said "Their effort was outstanding. Their projects were engaging, creative and demonstrated an excellent understanding of the Black Death."
