Fantastic performance at House Music Competition
The evening of Thursday 5 February saw the annual House Music competition at St George's College, Weybridge take place in the Recital Room.
Our guest adjudicator this year was the charismatic Mark Bushby, Head of Vocal Studies at Queen Anne’s School, Caversham, who was impressed by the performances our pupils gave.
Each house had to provide four soloists with at least one from each section of the lower, middle and upper schools, and an ensemble piece of at least five players. Our soloists gave fantastic accounts of themselves and the ensemble performances were all thoroughly entertaining and had the audience clapping, clicking and whooping along.
It was a tight battle between all the houses with very small margins between each place, but Southcote House came out victorious for the second year in a row at the end of this entertaining evening. Jack Hudson of Kilmorey House won the Audience Vote for his superb performance of Truckin’ through the South for unaccompanied cello.
Congratulations to all involved.
