DofE Gold 2014 – the Lakes

Students from St George's College, Weybridge have just returned from the Lake District, having completed a gruelling series of hikes for their Gold Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) award. The 26 Lower Sixth students - some of whom did both the practice and qualifying hikes, a total of 8 days walking - showed excellent commitment and dedication.

They were faced with some extreme weather conditions, including wind, rain and thunderstorms, as they trekked over some of the highest mountains in England.

Highlights included camping next to some remote tarns, and some beautiful evenings spent enjoying the sunset over some of the most wonderful scenery in the British Isles. The students are to be congratulated for their achievements!
