College victorious in Trinity Schools' T20 competition

Nick Christie batting recently for the College

On Monday 30th June the 1st XI played in the inaugural Trinity Schools’ T20 competition. It proved to be an amazing day as we ran out overall winners and also remained unbeaten! We beat Trinity, Reigate Grammar School and Epsom College. 13 players ranging from the Third Year to the Upper Sixth represented the side and did themselves proud.

In the first game we beat Trinity thanks to a terrific half century from Will Jacks who took the bowling apart and cleared the ropes on several occasions. James Newton and James Smith bowled very economically.

In the second game against Epsom we scored 155 thanks to a good opening partnership from Callum Mannings and Nick Christie and some late lusty blows from Josh Dominy and Alex Bartlett. Epsom could not overtake our total thanks to 4 wickets from James Smith.

There was an amazing finish in the final game against Reigate GS who needed 13 runs from the final over and fell one run short! The lads showed great character and teamwork to hold on in tricky conditions. Callum Mannings and Nick Christie again scored heavily at the top and Alex Firth played very well too. Alex Bartlett held his nerve in the final over to see us over the final in a tense final game.
