College defeats Yarm School at Henley Royal Regatta

College parents, grandparents, students and staff were delighted to watch the College 1st VIII achieve a memorable win at Henley Royal Regatta this morning. Acknowledged as being one of the youngest College crews ever to qualify for Henley, the boys took the lead from the start against Yarm School and eventually won by 5 lengths. Headmaster Joe Peake, who watched the race from the Launch along with Mr Walters and Mr Steve Robinson, said he had "waited 20 years to see a College crew go through the first race of the Princess Elizabeth Cup - but it really was worth it!".

On the banks of the river, resplendent in their College blazers and cheering loudly, were the Girls' 1st VIII, still happy from their own outstanding achievement of getting to the final at Ladies' Henley.
