Celebrate 150: Solemn Vespers & Benediction

As part of the Celebrate 150 programme of events, a Sesquicentennial service of Solemn Vespers & Benediction was held on Thursday 12 September at Westminster Cathedral.

The combined Chamber Choirs of the College and Junior School, directed by Richard Quesnel, the College Director of Music, provided an exquisite ‘menu’ of sacred choral music. Some of this, including a special setting of the College Prayer, had been written especially for the occasion by Richard himself.

Fr Aidan Peter Rossiter (CJ) presided and around 200 members of The Georgian Family attended, representing all the different layers of the School Community. After the service, guests enjoyed some delicious tea and cake in the Cathedral Hall.

It was a wonderful gathering of past and present members of the School and a fitting opportunity to give thanks to God for all the individual and collective graces and blessings that we have each received within the St George’s walls. Ad multos annos!
