Advent Candle holders shine bright for Years 3 to 6

Boys and girls in Years 3 to 6 at St George's Junior School have been busy creating their own special Advent and Christmas candle holders over the last few weeks of Christmas Term.

The children were all asked to think carefully about decorating their special candle holders, thinking specifically about what is the most exciting and important thing about Christmas, the birth of Jesus.

With the help of a grown up, the candle is designed to be lit each day until the end of Christmas (6 January) and acts as a regular reminder about the real meaning of Christmas.

The pupils had a lot of fun coming up with special designs and painting their nightlights. The candles were also on display at the Year 5 and 6 Christmas Carol concert at St George's College on Wednesday 13 December.
