Advent Candle holders shed a light on true christmas meaning

In order to remember what Christmas is really about, pupils in Years 3 to 6 spent some time in December creating their own special Advent and Christmas candle holders.

The children were tasked with decorating their own candle holders as they remembered one of the most important things celebrated at Christmas, the birth of Jesus.

Under the guidance of their parents, the candle holder is to be used with a lit candle each day until the end of Christmas (6 January), acting as a regular reminder about the real meaning of Christmas.

The children enjoyed listening to Christmas songs as they designed and painted their nightlights and it was the perfect way to make everyone feel Christmassy!

The candles were also on display for everyone to see at the Year 5 and 6 Carol Concerts which took place at St George's College last week (11 & 13 Dec).
