Upper Years make annual ‘pilgrimage’ to celebrate Mass at Christ the Prince of Peace

Upper Years pupils at St George's Junior School made their annual 'pilgrimage' to local Catholic Parish Church, Christ the Prince of Peace, on Tuesday 21 November to honour the feast day and further strengthen the links between School and parish.

As the School day started, the children in Years 3-6 processed from the Junior School to the church in Portmore Park Road, carrying a large St George's banner and clearly seen in their maroon uniforms, they walked with the Headmaster Mr Antony Hudson to the nearby church.

Upon arrival at the church, Fr Con, Parish Priest, was on hand to greet the children and begin proceedings. St George's pupils were involved in the readings and offertory procession during the Mass, with some pupils participating as alter servers, whilst the Chamber Choir and Orchestra were also on hand to provide some musical accompaniment.

It was a wonderful service and Fr Con is always incredibly supportive of the Junior School, so many thanks go to him and the local community for welcoming St George’s so warmly.
