Traditional tales rewritten at Able Learners' Storytelling Workshop

As part of the Able Learners’ programme, children from Years 1 and 2 at St George's Junior School took part in a Storytelling Workshop with author Chris Connaughton today (9 May). 

All of the children had a fantastic morning and learnt a lot from their special visitor, who has a wealth of knowledge – having delivered workshops to schools across the country for over 20 years.

After listening to exciting versions of 'Rumpelstiltskin' and 'Rapunzel', the pupils took part in drama games which focussed on movement, expression and voice. Observations from these activities were then drawn upon to develop characterisation. 

Finally, the children learnt some useful tips to develop their creative writing and quickly put them to the test by writing their own version of a traditional tale! A wonderful time was had by all.
