Third Year Biology students make friends with llamas on special trek

At the end of September, a select group of Third Year students from St George's College were fortunate enough to go on a llama trekking expedition as part of their extension activity in Biology.

Set amidst the beautiful Surrey Hills, the intrepid bunch met and groomed their llamas first, before leading them on a 3 mile walk through the wonderful countryside. Along the way the students were entertained by the llamas and learnt much about their feeding habits.

Each one of the llamas had their own personalities and the students were fascinated to see how they interacted within their hierarchical society. Some insisted on leading the pack and spat at the others to keep them in check!

The students had a fabulous day and were very sad to bid their llamas farewell at the end.
