St Joseph's Day celebrated at school Masses

Masses were held at St George’s College on Monday 19 March to celebrate St Joseph’s Day and the Solemnity of St Joseph.

Students and staff gathered in the College Chapel and the Masses were celebrated by Fr Martin Ashcroft, CJ, College Chaplain and Fr Richard.

St Joseph is the patron of social justice, fathers, carpenters and bursars. Many religious orders and communities are placed under his patronage including our very own Josephite community.

As well as celebrating Mass, all in attendance sang ‘By all your saints still striving’ and ‘Hail glorious patron’. In the Lower School Mass, the students and staff also sang the new St George’s College ‘Gloria in excelsis Deo’ for the first time.
