St George's College begins Lent

On Wednesday 1 March, students at St George's College, Weybridge marked the start of Lent with an Ash Wednesday Service.

As College Chaplain Fr Martin explained the meaning behind Lent and the history of Lent - a season of fasting and prayer - the students sat patiently and listened intently as they started to think about what they could do to help others in need this Lent.

After having ash placed on their foreheads, the children and staff alike combined to sing hymns that they had been learning in their tutor groups.
