Sixth Form In the Pink: students go pink to raise money for breast cancer care
At the beginning of October (Friday 6), it was time for the Sixth Form students to don their pinkest items of clothing and get ready for a huge bake sale at St George's College, as part of 'In the Pink'.
‘In the Pink’ is a special annual charity day aimed at raising money for people facing breast cancer.
As is always the case, pink was the theme of the day, with students showing their support by wearing pink socks, pink shirts, jumpers and some even painted their fingernails pink.
At break time the cakes appeared and the students were quick to follow, all taking part in the traditional pink cake sale, with all funds raised going to Breast Cancer Care.
The charity provides free support and information to patients when they need it most and promotes the importance of the early detection of breast cancer.
Heads of the Charity Committee, Harry and Laura, were in charge of counting up all the donations and they were delighted to announce that the Sixth Form managed to raise £630 for Breast Cancer Care.
Well done to all of the Sixth Form students for showing their support and also showing their true Georgian Spirit. St George’s is proud to continue raising awareness for this worthwhile cause.
