Pupils impress at Catenian Public Speaking Competition

Last night (Wednesday 7 March), two pupils from St George's Junior School, Weybridge were talking and representing the school at the annual Woking Catenian Public Speaking Competition.

After talking and debating their way through the Inter-house Public Speaking Competition at St George's Junior School earlier this term and being selected by their teachers to represent St George's at the Woking Catenian, the two pupils stood up and spoke to the large crowd in attendance.

The two boys both delivered confident and amusing speeches, one topic was 'Sandwiches' and the other was 'What's in a name'. There were 14 speakers in total throughout the evening and St George's is delighted to announce that our boys came 2nd and 3rd overall, an incredible achievement. Both boys were delighted with the result, they really enjoyed their four minutes in the spotlight performing to the audience and they are a credit to St George's and the English department at the Junior School.

Well done boys!
