Saturday's Philosophy Workshop enjoyed by everyone

On Saturday 21 January, a group of Year 3 and 4 children were invited to a Philosophy Workshop in the Rainbow Room at St George's Junior School, Weybridge.

One of the pupils in attendance has written a short review of the workshop:

"Group Tutor (J5.4) Mrs McIntyre organised this event for us and had invited a lady called Alison from P4C (Philosophy for Children) to take the workshop.

We did an activity where we rolled some dice, which had images on instead of numbers, and had to create a question using these images. For example, one question we had was, ‘If you had a caravan and a hat, why would the caravan wear a hat?’ or ‘If you had a jumper and a table, why would the jumper be on the table?’

After this, Alison put a few different job ideas on the floor, for example there was a rich business person and an Olympic sportsperson and we had to choose who we wanted to be and give a reason for it.

I chose the Olympic sportsperson because I wanted to be fit and healthy when I am older with big muscles. I wanted to share my talent with the world.

It was a really fun morning and we were glad to be invited.

We thank Mrs McIntyre for organising this brilliant event."
