Phenomenal display of musical talent at inter-house 'Live' concerts

St George's College, Weybridge has produced an array of wonderful musicians in its time and the start of 2017 has seen even more exceptional performances at the 'Lunchtime Live' and 'Tea time Live' concerts.

This week, on Tuesday 31 January and Thursday 2 February, students from First Year to Sixth Form have been showcasing their incredible musical skills in a series of inter-house competitions.

Both concerts were judged by special guest vocal coach Christopher Jacklin, who has performed all around the globe with a number of world renowned opera companies. The different School Houses took centre stage to try and impress our esteemed guest.

First up at 'Tea time Live' on Tuesday, boys and girls from each House in Fourth Year through to Upper Sixth took it in turns to wow the audience in their chosen field of music. There were stunning vocal performances from theatre and broadway production 'Wicked', as well as classical performances on the saxophone, piano, flute and guitar.

After much deliberation, judge Christopher proudly announced Southcote as winners of 'Tea time Live'.

Then, at 'Lunchtime Live' on Thursday afternoon, members of each House from First to Third Year took it in turns to impress the judge and audience alike. Again there were some extraordinary performances from all students involved.

With an intrepid audience waiting in anticipation, judge Christopher finally revealed that Southcote House had emerged victorious again.

Well done to all students who took part and had the courage to perform in front of such an esteemed guest and audience.
