Oxbridge success at St George’s Weybridge

Five students from St George’s College, Weybridge have this year received offers to Oxford and Cambridge.

This year’s contingent has had great success in History, with two going to study it at Cambridge and one to Oxford, along with one student reading Law at Cambridge and another reading Natural Sciences also at Cambridge.

Over the last three years, seventeen girls and boys from St George’s have gone to Oxbridge universities to read a wide range of subjects with the majority of all other students going on to Russell Group universities.

Speaking of the recent good news, Mrs Mandy Smith, Assistant Head: Sixth Form at St George’s College, said:

“I am delighted for the students, who certainly deserve this success as it has taken a great deal of hard work and commitment. They are looking forward to the exciting challenges of university and life beyond. I am equally proud of all our other students who are also receiving offers from the universities of their choice; they all should be incredibly proud of their achievements.”

A delighted Mrs Rachel Owens, Headmistress of St George’s College, said:

“I am very proud of our students, and, as an Oxford historian myself, especially pleased with three offers to read History this year. Well done to the staff who ably supported them too!”
