New records set in Year 5 triathlon

Last weekend (Saturday 13 May), the hugely successful and popular Year 5 Triathlon took place once more with pupils keen to show off their talents throughout the three different sporting events.

In an action packed sporting calendar at St George's Junior School, both the girls and boys competitions were well subscribed. The pupils had to swim the first leg, cycle the next and then complete a run to the finish.

There was smiles throughout the competition and the girls and boys were constantly cheering each other on to get the best out of each other.

In the boys' event, Zach Walters put in an incredible performance and smashed the old school record:

  • 1. Zach Walters – 8.20 (New Record)
  • 2. Harry Cooper – 8.57
  • 3. Adam Burgess – 9.04

Whilst in the girls' event, Phoebe George was the quickest, also setting a new school record:

  • 1. Phoebe George – 7.55 (New Record)
  • 2. Eleanor White – 8.38
  • 3. Olivia Stather – 9.00

Congratulations to all those who competed in such a fantastic event, and we look forward to next year's Triathlon to see if records can be broken once more.
