Mathematics in March as students celebrate World Maths Day and PI Day

Mathematically speaking, March has been a very busy month for students at St George's.

World Maths Day (7 March) not only united the world in numbers, but also united St George's Junior School and College. The computer rooms were full, the atmosphere was tense and the level of concentration was high as students from both schools took part in what proved to be a hugely enjoyable competition.

Pi Day was also celebrated on March 14 (3.14). Students took part in a variety of activities and competitions which incorporated the fascinating number in many different ways. The highlights of the day included some talented hula hooping, estimating the circumference of a melon and puzzle solving.

St George's would like to thank all of the students who took part in both events and to their teachers for encouraging some very healthy competition.
