Individual and team success as Junior School girls run to victory at Cross Country

On Monday 9 October, 22 Girls from Years 3 to 6 represented St George's Junior School in the Guildford High School Cross Country event. There were 16 schools participating, with in excess of 100 athletes in each age group race.

Continuing in the rich vein of form that athletes at the Junior School have shown so far this term, St George's cross country runners enjoyed some extraordinary team and individual success.

In the Under 8 event, there was individual success for one of the Junior School girls as she finished 1st and won the individual Gold medal. Then, in the team competitions, the Year 3 Team finished 3rd overall. The six girls did outstandingly well to win the overall team event in their age group.

Congratulations to all the girls that ran. They should be very proud of their efforts and were a credit to St George's.
