Congratulations to our end of year Georgians of the Week
St George's College congratulated the final Georgians of the Week of this academic year on Friday 30 June with a record-breaking crop of heroes.
Andrei Belonogoff won the open Leeds Castle Sprint Triathlon, beating 660 competitors, most of whom were adults.
Tom Portsmouth is now the Under 16 South East Regional Road Race champion and holds one of the fastest qualifying times for the National Time Trial in September.
Hendrik Van Der Leest has been winning medals whilst swimming for the Netherlands.
Meanwhile, these students have been excellent ambassadors of St George's, visiting some of our new First and Third Years in their schools to offer advice and reassurance:
Ellie Shahbo and Sarah Hogben ran a creative and engaging workshop on how CAFOD reacts to a crisis for the Second Year study day recently.
The terrific finalists from the Inter-house Bake Off Competition were also celebrated: Beth Nowell, Esme Vellender, Phoebe Grainger and Sabrina Learmount.
Meanwhile, Richard Trumper-Kent is being nominated for consistent kindness towards his classmates. He has contributed mufti money for other students in the Tutor Group on at least 2 separate occasions where students have forgotten to bring their money in.
At the Catholic Schools' Athletics meet our First and Second Year boys came 3rd and the girls came 1st. In addition, Ed Henderson broke the record for the 1500 metres. The full list of names is as follows:
As well as this, the girls' Under 15 cricket team has been crowned Surrey Cricket Champions for an astonishing THIRD year in a row, a remarkable achievement. Well done to:
Finally, proving what it is to be a Captain of the School, Will Hilton leapt to the aid of a road traffic accident victim outside his house and then directed traffic until the emergency services arrived! A wonderful show of Georgian spirit.
Many of these Georgians of the Week were rewarded with tasty treats at the Orchard Hall on Friday.3 July 2017
