Able Learners triumph at General Knowledge Championship

As part of our Able Learners’ programme, St George’s Junior School participated in a National Key Stage 2 General Knowledge Championship at Manor House School on Wednesday 17 January.

All of the Upper Years' children at St George's partook in a team selection quiz last term. The top scorers were then chosen to represent the school in this nationwide competition.

Two teams of children, a mix of Year 3 to Year 6 pupils, travelled to Manor House School to compete against twelve teams from Surrey schools in the area heat.

The children worked together in small groups to answer a wide range of general knowledge questions, ranging from historical events to film. The children relied on their knowledge, some common sense, logic and even some clever guesswork!

All of the girls and boys from St George's received a certificate for their efforts, whilst one of the teams performed brilliantly and finished first overall! They were thrilled to receive a plaque and badge. The winning team will now be advancing to the next round of the competition where they will compete against other area heat winners. Congratulations!
